SSG Bradley J Storck joined the Iowa Army National Guard in 1997 with Det 1 of the 134th Ground Ambulance Company in Iowa City. Later when the Det was dissolved he joined the main body in Washington, Iowa where he served as a Squad Leader, Ambulance Team leader, and driver.
In 2005 when the unit was deployed to Iraq SSG Storck was chosen with 14 other 134th Medics based on leadership and medical proficiency to train with the Phoenix Academy, 10 man MiTT, BiTT, and SPiTT teams. These teams were tasked with training the Iraqi Military, Border Patrol, and Special Police. During his time with BiTT Team 1, better known as The Bedouins, SSG Storck Logged over 150 Missions training 50 Iraqi Combat Lifesavers at 20 Border Forts with a total of over 800 Iraqi Soldiers. In his down time from his team, SSG Storck volunteered his time as the medic for patrols with 1st Armored Division and 3rd Armored Cavalry and earned his honorary Gold Spurs. He has unfortunately not completed the Spur Ride.
Upon leaving his team when they were replaced, SSG Storck was re-assigned to another mission working as the medical asset to the Navy Sea-Bees who were building a base for multi-national Special Forces teams to stage in Baghdad.
SSG Storck transferred to Charlie Med of the 334th Support Battalion in 2007. During his time with Charlie Med he served as the Unit Armorer, Unit Marksmanship Coordinator, Como Sergeant, Motor Sergeant, Field Sanitation NCO, and the Patient Hold NCOIC. When the Battalion deployed to Afghanistan in 2010, SSG Storck was again selected to join the Phoenix Academy on Team Colossus. A ten man team from the Iowa National Guard who lived, trained, and worked with 500 Afghan soldiers.
After returning to Iowa from deployment, SSG Storck took his final position with AMEDD from 2012-2015. In his 18 years with the Iowa National Guard SSG Storck assisted in the Flood Operations of 2008, two severe winter weather operations and two combat deployments. During his service, SSG Storck was awarded numerous Medals, Ribbons, and Coins including the Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.
