Charles J. Frauenholtz was born June 21, 1895 In Iowa City, Iowa. He enlisted in to the United States Army June 27, 1918 in Iowa City. Charlie served honorably until June 15, 1919 when he was discharged at Camp Dodge, Iowa as a Private. He married Bessie Meka January 21, 1920. They had two daughters Henrietta and Delores. After completion of his military service obligation, he picked up where he left off by continuing to farm in Johnson County. He was known for playing the fiddle at house dances. Charles passed away June 6, 1940.
