David L. Schapira

David Schapira graduated City High School in Iowa City, IA in 1964. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1968.
In 2013, David published a book about his experience in the military. This book follows his experience from the time he was drafted until he returned home as a seasoned Infantryman from the jungles of Vietnam in 1970. The book is titled, "The Storyteller: Live for Today and Look Toward the Future".
During his tour, David earned the Bronze Star, Air Commendation Medal and the Unit Presidential Citation and achieved the rank of E-6. He taught eighth grade for 32 years in Phoenix, AZ after his return.
