DeAngelo Barnell Snow from Saginaw, Michigan was killed in action September 17, 2010 when insurgents in Afghanistan attacked his vehicle with a rocket-propelled grenade. He was a very well-known polite people person who was loving, funny, and loved to dance. Before being deployed in June to Afghanistan, DeAngelo drew an image for his mother, Deloris Snow, of two hands pushed together in prayer. Dangling from the fingers is a dog tag necklace bearing his name. His mother made the image into a tattoo on her leg; this was one of her son’s last gifts to her. Snow was engaged to be married, he was only 22!

Snow joined the military a year after graduating high school, McCall said. He was assigned to the 526th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, Ky.
