Dennis Norman Slutts arrived “Special Delivery” at his parents Post Office/Store on July 21, 1935 in Mt. Zion, Iowa. He graduated from Fairbury, Nebraska High School in 1953 where me met his future bride Mariel Lenahan. They were married in 1954. He entered the United States Army in 1957. After completion of his training in Food/Supply Services, he was stationed in Germany working in Quartermaster Food Supply.
Dennis & Mariel had two sons; Kevin born in 1958 and Clayton born in 1961. Shortly after his Honorable discharge, he began a 33 year career with Johnson County Secondary Roads.
