Don Leroy Patten

Don Leroy Patten enlisted in the United States Army in May of 1974. He attended training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was a 62F30 Crane Operator in charge of training other recruits. Don eventually became a member of the 209th Medical Company in Iowa City, IA with the Iowa National Guard were he served as a Cook from 1976-1978. Don received training at Ft. Lee Virginia and Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
Don is longtime member of the American Legion where he participates on the Color Guard performing at funerals and other military associated ceremonies.
Medals earned include: National Defense Service Medal and the Marksman award.
