Edward E. Brandstatter served Honorably in the U.S. Army Company M 5 th U.S. Army Infantry, Spanish American War. Ed was born and raised in Tiffin, IA, the son of Phillip and Mary Brandstatter. The Brandstatter Family arrived in Johnson County in 1850, and were farmers south of Tiffin. Ed was a proud Army Veteran, and always had great respect for the Military. He lived in Iowa City for most of his years, but moved to Sioux City late in life. Ed is buried in Sioux City with a military head stone/plaque marking his grave. He was a member of the Iowa City Odd Fellows and was active in local events in Iowa City/Johnson County. His life span was: October 9, 1874- May 16, 1959. Ed is the Great Uncle of Rex and Rox Brandstatter of Coralville.
