Eugene Henderson

Eugene Henderson, 25, was killed in action in France on July 19, 1942. He was serving with the 113th mechanized cavalry, the original national guard unit which left Iowa City in 1941.
The above picture is Euguene (on the left) with his brother Donald (on the right), reporting that 'all is well' on the American front Christmas Eve, 1941. This was Eugene's last visit home before he was killed in the war.
