Jim "Pops" Myrick

Jim Myrick joined the United States Army in 1970 when he was only seventeen years of age with the consent of his parents. In 1971, he served with the 17 Calvary in DaNang, Vietnam. In 1972 he served with the 2nd Infantry in Panmunjom and I Corps in Uijeongbu, South Korea. Jim retired from the Army after being wounded on the 38th Parallel. Jim received a Bronze Star with Valor. He currently runs The DuPage Honor Guard in the western suburbs of Chicago which is a non-profit color guard for active duty and military personnel. Jim has a loving wife, 3 sons and a daughter. Two of his three sons followed in his footsteps and joined the United States Marines Corp. Jim Myrick is an honorable man who served his country with bravery and dedication, and for this he deserves recognition.
