Upon college graduation, John joined the Marine Corps. He served in Vietnam as a 1st Lieutenant (Combat Engineer and Infantry.) He was then promoted to Company Commander. John was born and raised in Iowa City/Coralville. He and his family reside in North Carolina. John was discharged Honorably in 1971. SEMPER FI!
