John L. Weno

John Louis Weno was born to parents Louis and Ida Weno in Johnson County, Iowa on February 22, 1927. John graduated from University High School in 1945. He then joined the United States Army on November 30, 1945 and discharged Honorably November 15, 1946. He served as TECHNICIAN FOURTH GRADE (TEC4) in the 64th Machine Records Unit as a Statistician during World War II.
John and Margaret Canney were married on October 19, 1955. They had three children: Barb, Jim, and Deb. John worked as a postmaster for over 20 years in North Liberty, Iowa. John passed away August 18, 1971.
Medals earned: Army of Occupation Medal and WWII Victory Medal.
