Joe was sent overseas June 7, 1944 on the Queen Mary. He saw active duty in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe and served under General Patton. He served Honorably from April 25, 1942 to October 26, 1945 attaining the rank of Tech 5.
Medals earned: Ribbon w\4 bronze battle stars, American Theater Ribbon, two overseas service bars, one service stripe, Good conduct metal.
