Linus J. Yeggy was born near Riverside, Iowa April 22nd 1893. He was inducted into the Army April 29, 1918 in Washington, Iowa and was sent to Camp Joseph E. Johnston in Jacksonville, Florida where he was assigned to Co. E 350th Infantry. Later when it was learned that he was an auto mechanic, he was transferred to the Motor Transportation Corps, Motor Truck Co. 446. Stationed at St. Aignan, France where he worked on trucks and delivered ammunition and supplies. At the end of the war, he was sent to Saint Nazaire, France for his return trip to the United States. After his discharge on May 20th 1919, he returned to Iowa and farmed in northern Washington County and southern Johnson County. Linus died June 19, 1971.
