Patrick J O’Brien was born September 27, 1936. He was the son of John and Rose O’Brien. He graduated from Cosgrove High School. He married Glennys Fountain in 1968. Together they had three children; Kevin, Anne, & Brigid.
His mother and sister enrolled him in dental school at the University of Iowa without his knowledge or consent. He hated that and enlisted in the Marines. His Military Occupational Specialty was Radio Operator. After discharging Honorably from the United States Marine Corps, he enrolled at the University of Iowa receiving a BA in Journalism. Pat was a reporter for KCRG in Cedar Rapids and KPIX in San Francisco. He then became the news director for a radio station in Sun Prairie Wisconsin. Pat retired in 1992 and moved with his wife to Juneau, Alaska. Pat died December 19, 1997.
