Robert Hesseltine was born August 7,1932 in Thornburg, Iowa. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1951. He was stationed on the USS Lewis in the Korean War and was involved in combat during that time. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
Robert was married to Marlene Hesseltine in 1953. They had six children together. Robert was a longtime Barber and business owner in the Iowa City area.
