Steve enlisted in the Air Force on December 31, 1982 and was on delayed enlistment until September 3, 1983. He attended basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas and technical school at Lowry AFB, Colorado. He then moved to Ellsworth, South Dakota until December 1986 when he was re-stationed in Comiso Air Station, Sicily for one year. While home on leave from Sicily, he met the love of his life, Pam. In January 1988, he moved to Ramstein Air Base, Germany where Pam had their son, Josh. Steve and his family then moved to KI Sawyer AFB, Michigan in January 1991. Steve and Pam had their daughter, Jessica, while stationed at KI. They moved to Minot AFB, North Dakota in November of 1994 and lived there until June of 2003. Steve officially retired on September 30, 2003.
