Tyler Jo Law
Staff Sergeant
U.S. Air-Force
Tyler Jo Law was born July 12, 1992, in Sterling, IL, and departed her earthly life on May 28, 2023, as a beautiful daughter, wife, sister, aunt, family member, and friend. Dauntless, she never hesitated to take on interesting and unusual challenges.
As a child, she was always one to analyze the world around her. She was fascinated by insects and animals; she was an avid swimmer with the Morrison, IL Seahorse Swim Club; she loved puzzles, poetry, and sci-fi. After graduating from Morrison High School, she studied Biology on a full-ride scholarship at Ashford University and married the love of her life, Tyler Joe Law (who just happened to share the same name) on May 18, 2012.
Tyler enlisted in the US Air Force in 2021 as an aircraft metals technology journeyman stationed at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. Her commanding officer, Maj. Danielle Ackerman, says, Airman Law “leaves a legacy of professionalism, selflessness, and compassion for others. Her focus and drive that she applied to all aspects of being an Airmen and Wingman made her constantly stand out above her peers.” In fact, she was awarded The Air and Space Commendation Medal, which states, “The distinctive accomplishments of Airman Law in dedication to her country reflect great credit upon herself and the United States Air Force.” She was also recognized as Senior Airman Below the Zone, 552d Maintenance Group of the Quarter, and 552d Air Control Wing Airman of the Quarter, and the 2022 552d MXS Maintenance Squadron Airman of the Year. The following quarter, she won Support Professional of the Quarter. After studying for months on end, Tyler had recently tested to increase rank from Senior Airman to Staff Sergeant which she was posthumously promoted to.
