MEETING MINUTES

Members Present: Maysa Ahmed, Dawn Alam, Ines Beltre (new member), Donna Brooks, Keshia Fields, John Hannaford, Kristen Morrow, Laurie Nash, Annie Nugent, Lynn Rose, Lora Shramek, and Kelly Weston.
Approval of Minutes: Approved November 17, 2020 minutes.
Next Meeting Date and Time: Tuesday, January 19, 2021
Ice Breaker: Keshia. Make a business idea and name from an avocado, cassette tape, and purse.
Budget Balance: $6,642.32 (Spent $6,357.28)
D&I Committee Strategic Plan: Anti-Discrimination Policy. Discussed questions about a anti-discrimination policy and steps to get it completed. Lora is in the process of completing an EEOC policy for the county that will be similar. Talked about a Whistle Blower policy. Talked about placing the anti-discrimination policy on a Board of Supervisors’ work session meeting to discuss with them. Any policy will need to be reviewed by the County Attorney’s Office.

If you are doing an article for the JoCo Weekly, please provide a date of when you will submit it and what topic you will discuss. I would like these a month in advance.

Will review the list of D & I recognition items for each month and send Keshia an email if we want to write an article about an item or which items we think would be good for Lunch & Learn or training.
Upcoming Internal Events
JC Committee Fair Event – February 9th at 1pm. The fair will be virtual.
What do we want to emphasize about D & I committee at this fair?
Other Items not on Agenda
Budget Meeting Update. The budget meeting went well. Keshia presented the plan for the D & I survey and for using Qualtrics web surveying for several other applications. John, Laurie, and Mike were there too and spoke about the importance of the request.
Scavenger Hunt Update. This will be in January so that EEE can have December for it’s events. Keshia said we may be able to do the scavenger hunt using clues about D & I training we have given to reinforce those ideas.
