Dates and deadlines
Friday, January 22: Voter preregistration deadline, 5 PM. Voters may still register after this date with the election day registration procedure, which requires ID and proof of address.
Friday, January 29: Deadline to request a mailed absentee ballot, 5 PM.
Monday, February 1: Last day for in-person early voting at the Auditor's Office.
Postmark deadline for mailed absentee ballots.
Tuesday, February 2: Polls open 7 AM to 8 PM at Lone Tree American Legion.
Ballot wording (Sample ballot):
Shall the Board of Directors of the Lone Tree Community School District be authorized for a period of ten (10) years to levy and impose a physical plant and equipment tax of not exceeding sixty-seven cents ($.67) per $1,000 of assessed valuation, and be authorized annually, in combination, to levy a physical plant and equipment income surtax upon each individual income taxpayer resident in the school district on Decemeber 31 for each calendar year commencing with calendar year 2016 or, each year thereafter (the percent of income tax not to exceed 20 percent determined by the Board of Directors each year) to be used for the purposes permitted by Iowa Law?
