We are a non-profit HOME Program under the Iowa Finance Authority. Solon Community Housing Corp. apartments provides housing for lower-income households. We have 20 non-smoking units, with both 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. We are conveniently located 10 miles north of Iowa City, Iowa, in Johnson County.  Solon provides a good location for tenants to live in a smaller community and easily commute in less than twenty minutes to the Veterans Hospital and the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Solon is a community of approximately 2600 people offering a local grocery store, a community library, Senior Dining and Meals on Wheels, and the SEATS transit service. A large recreation and nature complex is a short distance away providing walking trails and other amenities such as wildlife and benches. St. Mary’s Catholic Church is located next door just to the north. Solon High School and Middle School is located to the south and east.
