MEETING MINUTES

Members Present: Dawn Alam, Ethan Bettis, Brandon Davis, Kathryn Edel, Paola Jaramillo, Nikole Molina, Kristen Morrow, Annie Nugent, Lynn Rose, BJ Salazar, Kaitlin Schlotfelt, Tony Stammler, and Kelly Weston.

Budget Balance: $32,233.00
Update on County-wide Pronoun Program: Nikole will be sending out a survey to gather more information about employees’ understanding regarding pronouns. The goal is to engage employee knowledge and make it impactful enough that it will not come as a shock once the stickers have been rolled out. Promotions will still go as planned: 1) Article in JoCo Weekly, 2) signage in the buildings, 3) website, 4) intranet, 5) possibly a lunch and learn. 3 supervisors already have knowledge of this project.
Update on Regular FTE & PTE Email Policy: Paola and Nikole have created criteria based on a list provided by IT. Criteria: regular FT and PT employees, county employees with benefits, non-seasonal, and currently don’t have emails. The current plan is to onboard all current employees who fit the criteria. Criteria is subject to change for future hires. IT has enough budget to cover the costs of the current emails needed. It is about $153 per email. At least 3 supervisors have knowledge of this project and are in agreement.
Community Cultural Engagement Sponsorship: Paola presented to the board last week and was granted funding for this new grant centered on supporting local public cultural events. $10K for FY23 and $15K for FY24. This project requires a small subset of D&I committee members to review approved applications. Due to legality reasons, this will probably be changed to a sponsorship rather than a grant.
This sponsorship is inspired by the Iowa Dept. of Cultural Affairs
