The Johnson County Auditor’s Office completed its post-election audit for the August 2, 2026 Lone Tree Community School District special election, confirming the accuracy of the election night results.

As part of Iowa’s commitment to election transparency and accuracy, the Iowa Secretary of State randomly selects one precinct in each county for a manual audit following each election. This year, Johnson County audited the FR/LN/LT precinct, comparing the hand-counted results to the official machine tabulation.

The audit results matched exactly, with no discrepancy found. 

“Auditing a ‘vote for two’ is more complex and time-consuming,” said County Auditor Julie Persons. “I appreciate the diligent work the audit board performed. Their time helps ensure our election counts remain accurate.”
