The City of Iowa City will have a City Council Primary Election for District A candidates on Oct. 10, 2023. Iowa City requires a primary if three or more candidates file for a district seat or if five or more candidates file for the two At-Large seats.

No Activity Notices Arriving in the Mail for Voters Who Did Not Vote in the 2022 General Election
As required by Iowa Code §48A.28, voters who did not vote in the 2022 General Election had their voter registration status changed to “Inactive” and will be sent a No Activity Notice. Voters may handle these cards in one of three ways:

The Johnson County Treasurer’s Office and Auditor’s Office business hours will change beginning Friday, July 1, 2022. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
