Board of Supervisors

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors is accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2026 Economic Development and Quality of Life Grants from May 12 through 4 p.m. on June 06, 2025.

Each year through the budgeting process, the Board of Supervisors allocates funds to promote economic development in Johnson County and enhance the quality of life for its residents.

Economic Development grants are available for 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) organizations serving Johnson County to address at least one of four priority areas:

  • Housing and infrastructure access
  • Rural economic development
  • Agriculture, agritourism and local foods
  • Business and storefront improvement

A total of $105,000 is available for the Economic Development grant program in FY26, and awards will range from $5,000 to $50,000. Competitive applications will demonstrate diverse growth, sustainability, measurable impacts and local investments for local results.

Quality of Life grants provide operational and/or programming support to 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(6) organizations that primarily serve Johnson County. Applicants without nonprofit status are encouraged to collaborate with an eligible fiscal sponsor to facilitate their application.

The Board of Supervisors designated this year’s theme as “Community Engagement and Events”. Applicants should demonstrate how they will promote the County’s cultural, ethnic, and historical heritages through the development of festivals, community events, cultural programs and/or tourism projects.

A total of $60,000 is available for the Quality of Life grant, and awards will range from $1,000 to $10,000. Supported projects must be free, open to the public and ADA compliant.
