The Johnson County Board of Supervisors announces a vacancy on the Johnson County Zoning Board of Adjustment for residents of unincorporated Johnson County. The vacancy term begins upon appointment and expires Dec. 31, 2028.

Duties are established by Johnson County Unified Development Ordinance Chapter 8:1.29(A), and include the following:

• Interpret zoning regulations in particular circumstances; and
• Permit conditional uses, special exceptions and variances as specified in the Johnson County Unified Development Ordinance.

Qualified applicants must be eligible electors who reside in the unincorporated area of Johnson County. 

The Zoning Board of Adjustment meetings are scheduled for the third Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Meetings are not held when no new applications have been filed. Average meeting length is one to two hours. Mileage reimbursement is provided for travel to required meetings.
