Johnson County will host a Welcoming Week Resource Fair from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the Johnson County Administration Building parking lot, 913 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City.

The resource fair will feature representatives from more than 25 local government departments, community organizations and service providers. Attendees can connect with local organizations and community partners to learn about resources, information and opportunities available to individuals and families. The event offers an opportunity to learn, connect and celebrate the welcoming spirit of the community.

The event is part of a countywide Welcoming Week celebration taking place Sept. 10-19. Throughout the week, community organizations and partners across Johnson County will host gatherings and activities focused on building connections and creating welcoming communities for all. This year’s Welcoming Week will mark the first full year that Johnson County will celebrate its designation as a Certified Welcoming Community by Welcoming America, a distinction held by only 49 cities and counties across the U.S. Johnson County is the only Certified Welcoming Community in Iowa.
