Man Sentenced to Up to 7 Years for 14 Violations of No Contact Order
August 6, 2025 (JOHNSON COUNTY, IA) – Nathan Riley Fisher, 26, of Coralville, was sentenced to up to 7 years in prison on Friday, July 25, 2025, in Iowa District Associate Court. Fisher was convicted of violating a No Contact Order 14 times between May 15, 2025, and July 6, 2025; one of the violations included 91 phone calls Fisher made while in custody at the Johnson County Jail. The phone calls were made to a victim with whom Fisher currently has pending charges of Domestic Abuse Assault of a Pregnant Person - Strangulation; Domestic Abuse Assault – Strangulation with Bodily Injury; and Domestic Abuse - 3rd or Subsequent Offense.
Fisher was serving a 2 year probation sentence from an incident in 2024 with the same victim, where he pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault – Strangulation with Bodily Injury; Domestic Abuse Assault - 2nd Offense; and Violation of Sex Offender Registry – 1st Offense. Fisher was also found guilty of violating a No Contact Order with the victim 2 times in 2024.
District Associate Judge Brandon Schrock sentenced Fisher to the maximum 180 days for each of the 14 counts of Violating a No Contact Order, with each sentence of 180 days running consecutively, for a total of up to 7 years.
Fisher has additional pending charges of Sex Offender Registration Violation – 2nd Offense, and Driving While Revoked. A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
