The Johnson County Board of Supervisors voted today, Thursday, March 3, 2022, to rescind the requirement for individuals to wear face coverings in Johnson County government buildings, effective immediately.
The decision is based on new guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) regarding COVID-19 precautions.
The Board’s vote to lift the face covering requirement applies only to Johnson County government buildings. Various businesses and facilities in the community may still request or require face coverings. Members of the public should respect those requests or requirements, as well as individuals who choose to wear a face covering in public.
Johnson County will continue to monitor the CDC’s COVID-19 Community Level ratings. Depending on Community Level ratings, the Board may re-enact a face covering policy for county government buildings.
