VEHICLE VS. E-BIKE COLLISION RESULTS IN MINOR INJURIES

JOHNSON COUNTY, IA, Nov. 12, 2024 - This morning at 8:45am the Johnson County Joint Emergency Communications Center received a call reporting a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on Highway 1 at 560th St SW north of Kalona in rural Johnson County. A single vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 1 when a juvenile on an e-bike attempted to cross the highway from 560th Street and was struck by the car.

The juvenile was transported by ambulance to University of Iowa Health Care for minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and was uninjured.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Kalona First Responders, the Johnson County Ambulance Service, and the Iowa State Patrol.
