Consumer fireworks are allowed ONLY during these times/dates: Hills, Lone Tree, Oxford, Shueyville, Swisher, & Tiffin allow consumer fireworks on July 3rd from 9am-10pm, and on July 4th from 9am-11pm. Solon allows consumer fireworks on July 1, 2, and 3 from 9am-10pm, & on July 4 from 9am-11pm.  In rural Johnson County, consumer fireworks are allowed on July 3, 4, & 5 between the hours of 9am-11pm.

The 4th of July holiday is almost here! To help you celebrate safely (and legally), we've taken the time to compile some of the fireworks ordinances in Johnson County. Commercial (consumer) fireworks are allowed ONLY during these times and dates listed for each locality.

Hills, Lone Tree, Oxford, Shueyville, Swisher, and Tiffin allow consumer fireworks on July 3rd from 9am-10pm, and on July 4th from 9am-11pm.

The City of Solon allows consumer fireworks on July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd from 9am-10pm, and on July 4th from 9am-11pm.

In rural Johnson County, consumer fireworks are allowed on July 3rd, 4th, and 5th between the hours of 9am-11pm.

Violations of these codes are Simple Misdemeanors punishable by a fine of no less than $250.
