Explore resources, services and organizations that support health aging at the 2024 Healthy Aging Fair from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2024, at the Iowa City Senior Center, 28 South Linn Street, Iowa City. This free event is dedicated to promoting a healthy, safe, and active lifestyle for older adults.

This year's fair features a Dementia Friends information session on supporting loved ones with dementia, a presentation on nutrition for healthy aging, an interactive demonstration of Tai Chi to help reduce falls, and a laughter workshop to boost overall moods and health. In addition, attendees will have the chance to connect with local organizations dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for older adults.

The first hour of parking is free in the Tower Place Parking Ramp, 335 Iowa Ave. Vouchers will be available to cover up to two additional hours of parking. Entrance to the Senior Center is available by the connected skywalk on level 3A of the parking ramp.

The Healthy Aging Fair is hosted by Johnson County Livable Community for Successful Aging, University of Iowa Health Care, the Csomay Center, Veterans Affairs Caregiver Support, the Heritage Area Agency on Aging, the Iowa City Senior Center and TRAIL of Johnson County.
