As required by Iowa Code §48A.28, voters who did not vote in the 2022 General Election had their voter registration status changed to “Inactive” and will be sent a No Activity Notice. Voters may handle these cards in one of three ways:
- If the voter is to whom the card is addressed, and they currently reside at the listed address, they check the appropriate box, sign the card and follow the mailing instructions to return the card.
- If the voter receives the card but no longer lives at the listed address, they check the appropriate box, sign the card and follow the mailing instructions to return the card.
- If the voter to whom the card is addressed does not live at the listed address, the card can be disregarded.
Responses to the No Activity Notice can only be made by mail and cannot be made over the phone or by email. The Johnson County Auditor’s Office encourages those who receive the Notice to respond as quickly as possible. Timely return of the Notices ensures voter registration records stay up-to-date and accurate. Anyone who has questions about the Notices is encouraged to contact the office via phone at (319) 356-6004 or email at [email protected].
