Outdoor siren testing out of sequence for Friday April 14, 2023 in Solon Iowa (only) at 10 AM

Due to recent storm related repairs needed on the outdoor warning sirens located in Solon, we will need to test out of our normal sequence this Friday at 10 am on April 14, 2023 for the Solon sirens only assuming weather conditions permit.

The test will be isolated to Solon area operated sirens only and heard between 10:00 am and 10:05 am on April 14, 2023. This is not a county-wide test and you may here a series of short tests each lasting less than 3 minutes between 10am and 10:1 5 am.

This test is essential to ensure the full operational capability of the sirens located throughout the Solon area during severe weather season.

In the event of threatening weather Friday, we will postpone the test and advise of the backup date once that is set.

The testing, once completed, will then return to our normal schedule of the first Wednesday of each month at 10 am in May.
