The Iowa City Assessor and County Assessor will be moving to the Health & Human Services Building (HHS Building), 855 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City starting Wednesday, Oct. 25, while construction takes place in the Administration Building, 913 S. Dubuque St., Iowa City.

Detailed schedule changes include:

Iowa City Assessor: The Iowa City Assessor will be closed to the public on Wednesday, Oct. 25, and will reopen in its new location on the third floor of the HHS Building on Thursday, Oct. 26.

County Assessor: The County Assessor will be closed to the public on Thursday, Oct. 26, and will reopen in its new location on the third floor of the HHS Building on Friday, Oct. 27.

Public parking for the HHS building will be available on the north side of the HHS building. Visitors can enter through the entrance near the flagpole and take the elevator or stairs to the third floor.

Funding for the remodel project will be sourced through a combination of general funds and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) federal funds, with a firm commitment that taxes will not be raised to finance the remodel.

Johnson County remains committed to delivering high-quality services while creating a safer, more accessible, and productive environment for all residents and staff. The County anticipates completion of the project in the summer of 2024 and looks forward to welcoming the community back to an improved Administration Building.
