Weather permitting, critical closure for improvements to the intersection of F28 (West Penn Street) and James Avenue is expected to begin Monday, May 20, 2024, in Madison Township, Iowa. The intersection will be closed for up to 40 calendar days. F28 (West Penn Street) from Herky Drive to the James Avenue intersection will remain closed to all traffic until phase two work is complete.

Travelers should use the posted detour route and allow extra time to reach their destination. Phase one detour plans can be found on page three of the Johnson County Secondary Roads page at https://www.johnsoncountyiowa.gov/sites/default/files/inline- files/Detour%20Plans.pdf. This is a joint project between the City of North Liberty and Johnson County.

Despite significant weather delays during the past several weeks, construction is still expected to be complete by the end of August 2024. Peterson Contractors, Inc. of Reinbeck, Iowa is the prime contractor and can be reached at 319-345-2713.

Please slow down and drive defensively within the project corridor. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated while we work to complete these improvements as quickly as possible.
