Public Measure LX (50% required)Shall the following public measure be adopted?
Summary: To authorize imposition of a local sales and services tax in the City of University Heights, Iowa at the rate of one percent (1%) to be effective starting January 1, 2025.
A local sales and services tax shall be imposed in the City of University Heights, Iowa at the rate of one percent (1%) to be effective starting January 1, 2025.
Revenues from the sales and services tax shall be allocated and expended as follows:
50% for property tax relief; and
50% for any lawful purpose including, but not limited to, public safety, including law enforcement, parks and recreation, public infrastructure, economic development, and City administration.

Polls will be open 7:00 am – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10 at the University Heights Community Center, 1302 Melrose Ave.

- Wednesday, August 21: First day of in person early voting at the Auditor's Office. Voting available weekdays 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. (Closed Labor Day.) Note: Our office will return to our permanent location in the Administration Building, 913 S. Dubuque St., before voting begins.
- Wednesday, August 21: First day mailed absentee ballots can be sent.
- Monday, August 26 (5:00 pm): Voter pre-registration deadline and deadline to request mailed ballot. In-person early voting and Election Day Registration are still available after this deadline.
- Monday, September 2: Labor Day, Auditor's Office closed.
- Monday, September 9: Last day for in-person early voting at Auditor's Office.
- Tuesday, September 10: Polls open 7:00 am – 8:00 pm. All domestic mailed absentee ballots must arrive at Auditor's Office before the polls close at 8:00 pm in order to be counted.
