SHIIP is a free, confidential and objective service of the State of Iowa Insurance Division. Local organizations sponsor SHIIP in counties across the state and volunteer counselors provide one-to-one assistance with questions and problems related to Medicare and health insurance. SMP is a service of the State of Iowa Insurance Division SHIIP program. SMP's mission is to empower and assist Medicare beneficiaries, their families, and caregivers to prevent, detect and report Medicare and health care fraud, errors, and abuse through outreach, counseling and education.
