Johnson County, Iowa – The Johnson County Board of Health announced that Danielle Pettit-Majewski MPH has been named the new Director of Johnson County Public Health at the July 21, 2021 board of health meeting.
Ms. Pettit-Majewski, a 2010 University of Iowa College of Public Health graduate, comes from Washington County, Iowa where she has been Director at Washington County Public Health since 2013. Pettit-Majewski has been an active member of the Iowa Public Health Association Board of Directors, Advocacy Committee and has served on the Washington City Council since 2018.
“The Board is excited to announce Ms. Pettit-Majewski as the new Director who will lead the department, address our future challenges and opportunities and continue to improve the quality of services the department provides. It is no surprise that the pandemic has uncovered so many issues and opportunities and that the department is well suited to continue its mission and protect the health of the community,” said Dr. Pete Wallace, Chair of the Johnson County Board of Health.
“I am incredibly excited to get to work with the Johnson County Board of Health and the fantastic staff at Johnson County Public Health. I’m looking forward to getting to know the people of Johnson County and forming strong partnerships to improve the health of the community. COVID-19 has put a spotlight on public health for the last year and a half, and we have an excellent opportunity to tackle the root causes that lead to adverse outcomes. There’s a lot of good work to do and I’m ready to get started,” said Ms. Pettit-Majewski.

Ms. Pettit-Majewski will officially start August 18, 2021.
