Second installment of property taxes due no later than March 31, late payment penalties begin April 1
Johnson County property owners are reminded that the second installment of property and mobile home taxes were due on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Payments need to be delivered to the Treasurer’s Office, paid online, or postmarked by Thursday, March 31, 2022, to avoid a 1 ½ percent monthly penalty that will begin on Friday, April 1, 2022.
In-person payments must be made at the Johnson County Treasurer’s Office in the Johnson County Administration Building, located at 913 S. Dubuque Street in Iowa City, Monday through Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Johnson County works to increase housing stability through expansion of eviction diversion program
Johnson County is working to increase housing stability by reducing the number of evictions in our community through the expansion of the eviction diversion program. The expansion is a result of Johnson County’s investment of funds received from the federal government through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
