Campsites at the three campgrounds operated by Johnson County Conservation Board, F.W. Kent Park, Hills Access, and River Junction campgrounds, are all available on a first come, first served, self-registration basis.
- When are campgrounds open?

River Junction campgrounds is open year-round (excluding flood condition and extreme weather conditions). The campground at F.W. Kent Park and Hills Access is open seasonally, April 1 through October (specific open and close dates are weather-dependent). Campers at F.W. Kent Park may check-in upon park opening at 6 am, with check-out time at 5 pm.
- How long can I camp at the campgrounds?

Campers may stay for up to 14 days and then need to vacate the campgrounds for 7 days before returning.
- Are pets allowed in your parks and campgrounds?

Pets are allowed at JCCB parks and campgrounds provided they are on a leash or are in a kennel. They are not allowed inside the designated beach area at F.W. Kent Park.
- When does the beach at F.W. Kent Park open?

The beach at F.W. Kent Park opens the first Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and closes end-of-day on Labor Day. Hours of operation are 11 am – 8 pm daily.
- What kind of fish can I catch in F.W. Kent Park Lake?

The predominant species are largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, and black crappie.
- Can I use a shelter at F.W. Kent Park without a reservation?

Kent Park offers 6 open shelters, 4 of those may be reserved – Blue Bird, Deer Run, Bob White, Red Haw. If a shelter is not reserved then it is available on a first come, first served basis.
