How do we help the community?
Gun violence is a public health issue, and it's time we address it the same way we would any other threat to community health: with prevention.
We reach out to those most at risk. Young people and families might need someone to listen to at their tough times, guidance and connect them to helpful resources.
Small changes can make a big impact when you take into consideration access to food, housing or mental health services. We want you to know there's no wrong door to getting help.
We focus on consistency, real support, real conversations, and real change one person at a time.
Meaningful relationships result in positive outcomes. That's what CVI comes in.
When we invest in people and communities, we save lives.
Connection. Community. Prevention.
The CVI program is designed to:
- Identify and engage those most at risk for gun violence
- Offer educational and employment opportunities
- Interrupt cycles of violence through outreach, restorative practices, and trauma-informed care
- Hold individuals accountable, ensure justice
- Establish positive relationships throughout the community
