Lora was hired in 1998 to start the department. She has over 25 years of experience and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). Lora works with management practice issues, employee/labor relations, policy development & revision, and discipline. She is also the benefit plan administrator and is responsible for compensation programs.

DJ was hired in 2016 as the Human Resources Coordinator. She has 9 years of experience and has her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification. DJ performs HR generalist functions for Johnson County including worker’s compensation, safety, drug-testing, training, employee/labor relations, recruiting, and benefit administration.

Risk Management Coordinator

Adam was hired in 2017 as the Risk Management Coordinator. He has 10 years of experience as a safety professional and is an OSHA Outreach Trainer. Adam works with the County’s insurance agency/carriers as well as with the Finance Department and has operational responsibility of auto, property/casualty and general liability insurance. Adam also performs workers compensation, safety, drug testing, and training functions.

Inés was hired in 2020 as the Human Resources Coordinator. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from Southern New Hampshire University and over 5 years of experience as Human Resources. Ines will be performing HR generalist functions for Johnson County including recruiting, onboarding, employee/labor relations, benefit administration, training, etc. Ines is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion committee.

Rachel Carter

Human Resources Assistant

Rachel was hired in 2020 as our Human Resources Assistant. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Iowa. She will be assisting with recruitment, employee/labor relations, benefit administration, unemployment and more. Rachel will also be very active with the EEE Committee.
