Johnson County government to require face masks in county facilities through Jan. 15, 2022

Based on recommendations from the Johnson County Public Health Department (JCPH), the Johnson County Board of Supervisors voted on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021, to extend the requirement for all people – visitors and employees – to wear face coverings that cover both nose and mouth completely while inside Johnson County facilities, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status.  

The face covering mandate is effective through Thursday, Jan. 15, 2022, and is subject to change, pending guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and JCPH.

Johnson County Decategorization Program announces vacancies to the Decategorization Board

The Johnson County Decategorization Program is seeking volunteers to serve as members of the Decategorization Board. Vacancies exist for persons categorized as community-at large and individuals representing mental health, research, community organizing, and the faith community. Individuals living in rural Johnson County, persons of color, and English Language Learners are encouraged to apply.
