County to accept grant applications from area child care centers

Johnson County, Iowa -- Johnson County is accepting Child Care Assistance Expansion Grant applications.  The purpose of the funding is to create additional opportunities for Johnson County families eligible for Child Care Assistance (CCA) to access quality child care in their community.  Specifically, this funding is intended to create additional slots that serve children receiving Child Care Assistance.  Funding will be used to incentivize child care centers that expand the numbe

Johnson County is accepting Social Services Emergency Grant and Poverty Reduction Initiative Grant applications. The purpose of the funding is to assist organizations in responding to short-term or one-time emergency needs and to support programs and strategies that help lift households out of poverty. Funding will support new programming related to services provided in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, innovative new programming, capacity building, sustaining of services, and the purchase of essential equipment/supplies. 

All Johnson County residents are encouraged to provide feedback about their priorities for eligible use of $29.3 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds through an online questionnaire at https://johnsoncountyiowa.iad1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_425gsQ7THOCMMCO. The survey is currently translated into Spanish, French, Arabic and Swahili.
