Weather permitting, road reconstruction is expected to begin the week of March 18, 2024, on 540th Street in Sharon Township. 540th  Street will be closed to through traffic from 400 feet east of Highway 1 to and including the Gable Avenue intersection. Local access to businesses and residences located on this segment of 540th Street shall be maintained.

Johnson County, Iowa – The Johnson County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2025 proposed property tax asking at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. The meeting will take place in conference room 203 on the second floor of the Johnson County Health and Human Services Building, 855 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City. All budget work sessions will be live-streamed via the Johnson County website and Zoom.

The update process for the Johnson County 2018 Comprehensive Plan: Sustaining Success Through 2028 is moving to its next step. The Johnson County Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed Volume 3: Mid-Term Update at 5:30 p.m., Monday, March 18.

County staff will present an overview of the updates proposed. The commission will discuss the proposed update, take public comment and potentially make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors.
