Independence Day 2025 hours for Johnson County departments and offices

Most Johnson County governmental departments and offices will be closed on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.

Detailed schedule changes include:

Ambulance: Johnson County Ambulance Service (JCAS) will be available for routine and emergency response. The JCAS billing and administrative offices will be closed. Emergency services remain available 365 days a year. In an emergency, residents should always dial 911.

Homeowners in unincorporated Johnson County eligible for Pocket Prairie Program

Homeowners in unincorporated Johnson County are eligible for a program to add pocket prairies to their landscapes. Eligible homeowners can apply online beginning at 9 a.m., Tuesday, July 1.

The program is a collaboration between Johnson County and Master Gardeners of Johnson County. The program provides participants with technical guidance and enough pollinator plants to establish a 10’ by 10’ pollinator garden.
