Explore the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm at its Open House on August 6

Discover history, local food and nature at the Johnson County Historic Poor Farm Open House from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024, at the Historic Poor Farm, 4811 Melrose Avenue, Iowa City. This free event is open to all ages and will showcase the site’s offerings and the upcoming launch of event rentals.  

Johnson County Elected Officials to hold listening posts at County Fair

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors and County Treasurer will hold listening posts during the 2024 Johnson County Fair.

The listening posts will take place in Building B, table five, on the Johnson County Fairgrounds, 3109 Old Hwy 218 S., Iowa City. Community members are encouraged to stop by and meet with Board members and the Treasurer to discuss any Johnson County-related topic. No formal agenda or presentation is planned.

Jail space needs assessment report

The Board of Supervisors will briefly discuss the Sheriff's Office and Jail space needs assessment report at the work session at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10. A full discussion of the report will follow at a later date.
