ON OCTOBER 4, 2024, THE OFFICE OF THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL RECEIVED A REQUEST PURSUANT TO IOWA CODE 100.40(1) (1995) FROM BRIAN PLATZ, REPRESENTING EACH FIRE DEPARTMENT HAVING ALL OR PART OF THEIR FIRE DISTRICT WITHIN JOHNSON COUNTY, THAT THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL PROHIBIT OPEN BURNING

Johnson County employees will participate in the Great Apple Crunch, a nationwide event celebrating local food purchasing. Employees will gather in the Johnson County Administration Building lobby from 11:30 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 9, to crunch into local apples from Buffalo Ridge Orchard in Central City, Iowa.

The Johnson County Auditor’s Office announces early voting opportunities via satellite locations for the Nov. 5, 2024 General Election. Early voting provides residents more opportunity to cast their vote, allows for voting outside normal polling locations, and avoids potential personal conflicts for voting on Election Day. Early and satellite voting locations are open to all Johnson County voters.
