Johnson County Zoning Board of Adjustment vacancy

The Johnson County Board of Supervisors announces a vacancy on the Johnson County Zoning Board of Adjustment for residents of unincorporated Johnson County. The vacancy is for a five-year term beginning upon appointment and expiring Dec. 31, 2027.

Duties are established by Johnson County Unified Development Ordinance Chapter 8:1.28(A), and include the following:

Interpret zoning regulations in particular circumstances; and Permit conditional uses, special exceptions and variances as specified in the Johnson County Unified Development Ordinance.

Herbert Hoover Highway NE/F44 open to traffic

Johnson County is pleased to announce that Herbert Hoover Highway NE/F44 from 0.9 miles east of Wapsi Avenue to 0.1 miles west of Johnson Cedar Road is OPEN to traffic. Some final grading and grass seeding in the ditches will take place next spring. Please drive with caution during these times.

Construction was completed by Croell, Inc. of New Hampton, Iowa.

The draft Windham Village Plan will be considered by the Johnson County Board of Supervisors at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, in the second-floor Boardroom of the Johnson County Administration Building located at 913 S. Dubuque Street in Iowa City.
