1. All traffic control signs placed on the secondary road system of Johnson County shall conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
  2. Destination signs may be placed by the department to direct traffic to incorporated cities, unincorporated villages, state and county parks or other public facilities.
  3. Destination signs to direct traffic to private residential sub-divisions may be placed by the department. The cost of materials, installation costs, and any required replacement costs shall be paid in advance by the subdividor or the homeowners association. The department assumes no responsibility for maintenance or continuance of such signs.
  4. No signs shall be permitted on public right of way for the purpose of directing traffic to private businesses or residences.
  5. Unauthorized signs shall be removed by the department.
  6. Special advance warning signs such as "Cattle Crossings," "Cattle Drive," "Watch for Horses" etc. may be placed by the department . The cost of materials, installation costs and any required replacement costs shall be paid in advance by the person or organization requesting the special signs. The department assumes no responsibility for maintenance or continuance of such signing.
  7. All signs on public right of way are to be erected by department personnel.
